Army Firesteel Rods

Forest School Shop only offers high-quality ferroicum rods, otherwise known as firesteels. Our Greenman Firesteels are army sized, approx. 95mm x 9.5mm, and perfect for adding your own handles to, which is great fun with scouts or as part of a bushcraft lesson.

Strike the firesteel with a steel object, such as the back of a knife to create a shower of hot sparks to produce a fire with. Each firesteel is waterproof and will last for 8,000 - 10,000 uses. Ferro rods are an ideal waterproof alternative to a lighter and perfect for survival kits.
