What information do we collect?
As part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal data that you provide to us when placing orders via our website or sales lines/email or when you register to hold an account with us. This includes;

- Date of birth to make sure that you are of legal age to purchase age-restricted items – such as carving tools and fire lighting equipment. We may provide your details to credit reference agencies to validate the information provided and fraud protection organisation to prevent fraud and verify your details – these checks do NOT impact your credit rating score. You may provide ID instead should you wish (redact all details other thn name and date of birth).
- If you are purchasing on behalf of a company then business details including company name, shipping and billing address, telephone and mobile numbers and email address are collected.
- When you browse our websites, we will automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide with a better user experience.
- If placing orders via our telephone service, we may record calls for training purposes - this data is stored for a maximum of 7 days.
We use this information detailed here to manage your customer account, process your order(s), authentication, processing of payments, review invitations, stock notifications and marketing (unless you have opted out).
How long do we keep it for?
This will vary depending on the purpose for which your personal details were collected – i.e. – we may need to contact you urgently should there be a product recall due to safety concerns. However, we will not keep your details longer than necessary and they will be disposed of safely when no longer required. Any call recordings are stored for a maximum of 7 days.
Who do we share it with?
We will only share your information when there is a genuine need to do so whilst processing order/supplying goods or resolving any technical difficulties.
Our select partners will only use and disclose your information to the level necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

Whilst we take reasonable steps to ensure personal data remains safe via email, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any email messages transmitted between you and us as these types of communication are (although unlikely) potentially accessible by third-parties and therefore we will not be liable to you or anyone else for any loss relating to any email message sent by you to us or by us to you.

On receipt of a Subject Access Request, we may require additional documentation proving evidence that the details held relate to you. Once your identity has been confirmed we will aim to respond with the information requested within 30 business days.
