FSC Field Guide to Hedgerows
(Approx $5.6509)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Recent years have seen a dramatic decline in farmland wildlife. Farmland birds have declined by 30% since 1970. Almost half of the 44 species of butterflies breeding in lowland grassland are in decline. But research by Natural England has shown that organic farms are bucking the trend, with more birds, butterflies, beetles, bats and wild flowers than on non-organic farms
Produced in partnership with OMSCo (The Organic Milk Co-operative), this new fold-out chart provides an identification guide to the plants, birds, mammals and invertebrates that live in the British hedgerow.
Text on the reverse side examines the importance of hedgerows to the landscape and to plants and animals. Tips on the management of hedges for wildlife are given.
This chart is part of the FSC's range of fold-out charts, designed to help users identify of a wide range of plants and animals. Each chart is laminated to make it shower-proof and robust for use outdoors. Clear colour illustrations and text by experts in the subject make these valuable resources for all age groups.
